Abdul Qadeer Khan dies at 85

 

  • Abdul Qadeer Khan was a Pakistani nuclear physicist and metallurgical engineer who is colloquially known as the "father of Pakistan's atomic weapons program", died due to Covid-19 in Islamabad on 10 Oct.
  • AQ Khan had been living a secluded life since 2004 after he admitted to a role in a massive global nuclear proliferation scam by Pakistan. 
  • In a televised address, he had accepted responsibility for illegal proliferation of N-technology to Iran, North Korea and Libya.
