Bihar Cabinet approves proposal to start caste based headcount in state
- This decision was taken at a cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
- After the meeting, Chief secretary Amir Subhani informed the media that the cabinet has approved Rs.500 crores from the contingency fund for the caste-based census.
- Mr Subhani said the Bihar government will conduct the caste-based census from its own resources.
- He also said the Census will be conducted by the general administration department at the state level.
