BIS grants 630 out of 661 licences to MSME toy manufacturers
- The Govt said Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has granted 630 out of 661 licences to MSME toy manufacturers till 28th of March.
- In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Ashwini Kumar Choubey said safety of Toys is under compulsory BIS certification from 1st January last year.
- He said accordingly, it is mandatory for Toys to conform to Indian Standards for Safety of Toys and bear the ISI standard mark under a licence from BIS.
