Indian Coast Guard saved over 10,000 lives at sea
- Speaking at the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board meeting in New Delhi, Director General, Indian Coast Guard K Natarajan informed this.
- Deliberations are also being held on various maritime safety issues and identifying areas of improvement of Search and Rescue services.
- Other speakers at the meet also reiterated the need to focus on sustainable maritime safety in Area of Responsibility (AOR).
- Indian Coast Guard is the country's nodal agency for Maritime Search and Rescue since its inception in 1978.
